Folsom Manifesto
The Folsom Manifesto was written in 1970 and served as the catalyst for a 19 day strike. Over 2,400 prisoners participated and refused to leave their cells for nineteen days, in the face of constant hunger, discomfort, and psychological intimidation. Their action was in protest again the overcrowded, racist, and brutal California prison system.
