Angola, Guinea-Bissau and Mozambique
This collection contains materials from the liberation struggles in former Portuguese colonies. Guinea Bissau gained independence in 1973 and Mozambique and Angola achieved independence in 1975.
This collection contains materials from the liberation struggles in Angola, Mozambique and Guinea-Bissau. In addition to materials specifically related to each country’s independence struggles, the collection has a run of seven issues of Peoples Power, which examines the national liberation struggles, reconstruction and on-going revolutions in former Portuguese colonies. The majority of each country’s sub-collection were produced by the party/army of liberation (MPLA: Angola; FRELIMO: Mozambique; PAIGC: Guinea-Bissau and Cape Verde). Additionally the collection contains primary accounts, personal narratives and even a graphic novel from the various wars of liberation.
