Last month, Claude had the honor of visiting Casa Corretjer in Ciales, Puerto Rico. The center focuses on the life and legacy of Juan Antonio Corretjer, who was a political activist, poet, and beloved leader of the Puerto Rican National Liberation Movement. We pulled together some of our holdings on Juan Antonio and Consuelo Lee Corretjer in this visual finding aid and shared it with Casa Corretjer to show our support in the preservation of their legacy. From Ciales to the Bay Area, we hope that the Corretjers’ contributions to anti-colonial and national independence struggles will serve as a source of inspiration for generations to come.
