Patria Libros is a free, open access digital library inspired by José Martí and dedicated to Cuban literature. A space to make available to the world the work of Cuban authors as well as Cuban editions of universal classics and books written about Cuba anywhere in the world and in any language.
Launched on October 20, 2023 on the Cuban National Culture Day and in commemoration of the 28th anniversary of the José Martí Cultural Society, today Patria Libros is the largest online Martí inspired digital library in the world entirely dedicated to Cuban literature.

Goals of the library:
- Improve international access to Cuban literature through its presence on international servers.
- Contribute to the organization and consolidation of Cuban literature and publications in all collaborating institutions and their archives.
- Develop a digitalization methodology taking into account the needs and challenges of Cuban society.
- Reintroduce historical and contemporary Cuban literature to a new generation of Cubans and the rest of the world.
- Contribute to the ideal that knowledge is a human right and should be free and accessible to all.
Data of interest
❣ Patria Libros works as a social network to share books that already has hundreds of registered users.
📚It is powered by collaborations of authors, publishing houses, libraries and other instituciontions that bring their digital books (PDF, EPUB and JPG) to the library.
🙋The bibliographic files or metadata that accompany each book is created by young volunteers from different Cuban institutions and there is always a need for more friends willing to collaborate with this task.
❣️In addition to helping to make visible the activity of our contributing organizations, the project seeks to form work teams with people interested in the digitization of books and the processing of digital books, as well as in the editing and correction of the online information on the site and /or in the organization of digital promotion activities.
