Someone in New Zealand is illegally broadcasting NWA’s track ‘Fuck Tha
Police’, forcing the local authorities to listen to the track while on duty.

The track, originally released in 1988, is famous for its lyrics
protesting against police brutality. So far, at least two versions of
'Fuck Tha Police' and a track by Rage Against the Machine have been
played on the police radio frequency in Otago, NZ.

Inspector Kelvin Lloyd spoke to the /Otago Daily Times/
<https://www.odt.co.nz/news/dunedin/expletive-ridden-rap-interferes-aos-callout>
about the situation, stating that people are being put in danger.

"There's no question that if it carries on and if they do what they're
doing it will delay a response. Any interference with a police radio
constitutes a risk to public safety, and anyone caught doing this can
face a penalty of criminal nuisance and up to one year imprisonment.”

According to Inspector Lloyd, no police radios had been reported
missing, indicating the broadcast was happening by other means.

This isn’t the first time someone has pranked the police force in New
Zealand in a similar nature. Back in August the police radio frequency
was interrupted by pig grunts.
