December 2008

Dear Friend and Supporter of our Political Prisoners:

The Malcolm X Commemoration Committee presents its 13th annual dinner
tribute to the families of our political prisoners and prisoners of
war imprisoned in the tri-state area and whose families represent
them at the event. Because of your past support, we have been able to
place a generous amount in the commissary accounts of each freedom
fighter who has been represented at the dinner by a family member. We
hope the 13th dinner will be equally successful. That depends on your
continued loyal support.

The dinner will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2009. The time is 3
p.m. - 7 p.m. Dinner will be served from 3 - 4 p.m. The program will
start promptly at 4:15 p.m.

This year the dinner tribute is being held in conjunction with the
1199 SEIU Activists, and is being held at the:

Martin Luther King Labor Center Auditorium
310 W. 43rd Street, NYC 10036
(1199 headquarters)
between 8th and 9th Avenues (half a block from the A train's exit,
42nd Street stop)

As usual, the revenue raised will be divided equally among the
commissary accounts of the freedom fighters represented at the event.

The u.s.a. government's COINTELPRO is alive and well. Its evil
machinations among our Political Prisoners are particularly heinous
and wreaking their toll among our courageous freedom fighters. Just
recently we lost Brother Bashir Hameed, who made his transition last
August. As part of our 13th dinner, we will make a special
presentation to his mother, Mama Rosetta York, in memory of Bashir
and to the years of unswerving support of Mrs. York for her son Bashir.

Guest speakers are Ashanti Alston, Co-Chairman of the National
Jericho Movement, and Brenda Stokely, veteran community activist and
director of the New York Katrina Relief Support Group. Rap Artist Nat
Turner will also be with us.

Come out and meet old friends and greet the families of our freedom
fighters. The donation is $40.00 for advance reservations and $45.00
at the door.
