[Ppnews] BPP Anniversary Events - Oakland this weekend

The 41st Anniversary of the Black Panther Party starts today at the
Black New World, 836 Pine, in West Oakland, at 7pm.

The Reunion will open up, today, with Emory Douglas, the former
Minister of Culture of the BPP, hosting a slideshow presentation about
the BPP's history through his art work at 7pm. After that, there will
be a Black Panther 'Party', with music.

Tomorrow, the festivities will start at 2pm 'til 6pm at the Black New
World. Saturday will consist of a film festival which will include
Legacy of Torture, Audio Rebellion, Children of the Black Panther
Intercommunal School, and 3 Black Panthers and a Slave Plantation.

On Sunday, there will be panels, in memory of the BPP Denzil Dowell
campaign, featuring police terrorist victims in our community
including members of the San Francisco 8 and Akua Njeri, the widow of
Illinois Chairman Fred Hampton of the BPP, the parents of 20 year old
police murder victim Gary King, and the parents of unarmed 15 year old
police terrorist victim Laronte Studesville, moderated by the POCC.
The festivities will end with POCC Chairman Fred Hampton Jr giving the
keynote speech on "The Importance Protecting the Legacy of the Black
Panther Party".
