The 41st Anniversary of the Black Panther Party starts today at the<br>
Black New World, 836 Pine, in West Oakland, at 7pm.<br><br>
The Reunion will open up, today, with Emory Douglas, the former<br>
Minister of Culture of the BPP, hosting a slideshow presentation
about<br>
the BPP's history through his art work at 7pm. After that, there
will<br>
be a Black Panther 'Party', with music.<br><br>
Tomorrow, the festivities will start at 2pm 'til 6pm at the Black
New<br>
World. Saturday will consist of a film festival which will include<br>
Legacy of Torture, Audio Rebellion, Children of the Black Panther<br>
Intercommunal School, and 3 Black Panthers and a Slave
Plantation.<br><br>
On Sunday, there will be panels, in memory of the BPP Denzil Dowell<br>
campaign, featuring police terrorist victims in our community<br>
including members of the San Francisco 8 and Akua Njeri, the widow
of<br>
Illinois Chairman Fred Hampton of the BPP, the parents of 20 year
old<br>
police murder victim Gary King, and the parents of unarmed 15 year
old<br>
police terrorist victim Laronte Studesville, moderated by the POCC.<br>
The festivities will end with POCC Chairman Fred Hampton Jr giving
the<br>
keynote speech on "The Importance Protecting the Legacy of the
Black<br>
Panther Party".<br><br>
