Politically Correct Racism Sustains Israel and US Empire

Violent domination of other countries by an 
imperialist nation is implicitly racist and is 
certainly recognized as such by the victims, if 
not by the citizenry of the occupying country. 
Thus the violent occupation of Gaza, the Golan 
and the West Bank is clearly illegal and racist 
but the majority of Israelis and Jews complicit 
in this occupation would not regard themselves as 
racist – the more so because of the abhorrent 
Nazi German racism that killed 6 million Jews in 
the World War 2 Jewish Holocaust. There has to be 
a “story” that somehow “justifies” racist 
criminality to the citizens supporting it. Thus 
the Israeli “story” that has been successfully 
“sold” to a majority of their own population and 
to an arguable majority of Westerners is of the 
“need for a civilized Jewish State totally secure 
from kamikaze Arab terrorism”. The success of the 
“story” depends upon violent racists convincing 
others that they are not – dishonest conduct that 
can be called “politically correct racism” or “PC racism”.

Violent, racist occupation of other countries is 
expensive in terms of military hardware and 
military lives. The huge cost of the military in 
the US (current annual military budget about $500 
billion) provides a huge resource for pro-war 
lobbying by the military-industrial complex. 
However the dominant US non-military economic 
sector has a different agenda and US military 
deaths are extremely politically sensitive. 
Accordingly, the war-mongers and war-makers need 
to sell their agenda effectively – and words are 
much cheaper than military hardware and soldiers. 
The Bush Administration “story” over Iraq has 
slowly evolved as its dishonesties have been 
progressively revealed, but fundamentally the 
“official” line, supported by most of Congress 
and the Senate (but perhaps by as few as 40% of 
US citizens now), is now that “the US is in Iraq 
out of its desire for Arab freedom and democracy”.

Propaganda is cheap and of huge political and 
military strategic value. The racism implicit in 
any Empire has to be hidden by saturation 
propaganda - or else backed up by additional 
extremely expensive violence. While huge military 
expenditure provides a huge lobbying budget for 
the US military-industrial complex, US military 
casualties remain an inescapable political 
liability that requires massive propaganda and 
mainstream media lying by omission and 
commission. The racism and horrendous realities 
of Israeli occupation and US Empire both require 
comprehensive denial for public palatability – 
and thus both complicit politicians and complicit 
mainstream media exhibit what can be called 
“politically correct racism” (PC racism). In 
short, the PC racist war-makers and war-mongers 
dishonestly assert their political correctness 
and non-racism, while simultaneously ensuring 
public ignorance of the actual horrendous human cost of their activities.

For those utterly dispirited by the apparent 
success of the lying, racism and violence of the 
war-makers and the occupiers there is some hope 
and comfort in the reality that the truth will 
out. The bottom line reality in any rational 
human discussion should be respect for human life 
– which is precisely why the generally dishonest 
and PC racist Anglo-American media will 
resolutely NOT report the horrendous human cost 
associated with war and occupation in the Middle 
East and Central Asia. However, using 
publicly-available UN Population Division data it 
is possible to provide quantitative estimates of 
the horrendous human cost of these conflicts. 
Using such data I have extensively researched 
post-1950 “avoidable global mortality” 
(technically “excess mortality”), which is the 
difference between the ACTUAL deaths in a country 
and the deaths EXPECTED for a peaceful, decently 
run country with the same demographics. The 
results are horrendous (see:

The post-invasion avoidable mortality (excess 
mortality) in the Occupied Palestinian, Iraqi and 
Afghan Territories now totals about 0.3, 0.5 and 
1.6 million, respectively, while the 
corresponding post-invasion under-5 infant 
mortality now totals 0.2, 0.3 and 1.4 million, 
respectively (see Senate Inquiry submission #112:

Most of these deaths were non-violent – thus Iraq 
Body Count (see: 
<http://www.iraqbodycount.org/>http://www.iraqbodycount.org/) 
currently estimates that 27,000-31,000 Iraqis 
have been killed violently post-invasion (out of 
an estimated total of 0.5 million post-invasion 
avoidable deaths). UK-US state terrorism – 
described by Blair and Bush supporters as 
“democratic imperialism” (but by others as 
democratic tyranny, democratic Nazism or UK-US 
state terrorism) - has had an horrendous human 
cost, with under-5 infant mortality now totalling 
about 0.5 MILLION EACH YEAR in the Occupied Iraqi and Afghan Territories.

Politically correct racism (PC racism) permits 
immensely destructive and criminal UK-US 
democratic imperialism and US Empire – because PC 
racist Anglo-American mainstream media will 
simply NOT report the horrendous human cost. 
According to the latest UNICEF report (January 
2006) (UN-REPORTED by mainstream media), in 2004 
the under-5 infant mortality was 122,000 in 
Occupied Iraq, 359,000 in Occupied Afghanistan 
and 1,000 in the occupying country Australia 
(noting that in 2004 the populations of these 
countries were 28.1 million, 28.6 million and 
19.9 million, respectively)(see:

About 1,300 under-5 year old infants will have 
died in Occupied Iraq and Afghanistan on 
Christmas Day 2005 alone, 0.5 million will die in 
the coming year and 1.7 million have died 
post-invasion due to non-provision by the US-led 
Coalition of life-preserving requisites demanded 
by the Geneva Conventions (see:

UK-US-Israeli “politically correct racism” has 
been a startling strategic and public relations 
success - allowing the war criminals to commit 
and benefit from the worst racist crimes while, 
with mainstream media complicity, convincing much 
of the world of their high ideals and humanity. 
How can decent and honest humanity respond to 
indecent and dishonest PC racism? Great writers 
such as Arundhati Roy, John Pilger and Nobel 
Laureate Harold Pinter have called for 
international trials of the Coalition leaders as 
war criminals. Indeed a detailed, formal 
complaint has been recently sent to the 
International Criminal Court (ICC) charging the 
Coalition with war crimes in Occupied Iraq and 
Afghanistan (see:

Others should also lodge formal complaints with the ICC.

Peace is the only way but silence kills and 
silence is complicity. As individuals we must all 
resolve to speak out and act ethically in our 
business and other dealings with people and 
countries complicit in the crimes of 
UK-US-Israeli state terrorism. As well 
illustrated with the collapse of Apartheid in 
South Africa, the lesser Anglo-American criminal 
accomplices are more vulnerable to peaceful 
international action than the UK and the US. Thus 
Australia is tightly linked to Anglo-American 
violence and imperialism. Politically correct 
racist Australian media are currently 
(legitimately and passionately) exposing Japanese 
killing of 1,000 WHALES ANNUALLY but will simply 
NOT report the passive murder by the US-led 
Coalition of 1,300 MUSLIM INFANTS DAILY in the 
Occupied Iraqi and Afghan Territories. Why should 
Asian and Muslim overseas students study in 
Australian universities when Australia is 
SILENTLY COMPLICIT in the horrendous mass murder, 
mass infanticide and passive genocide of Asian 
and Muslim children? Fundamentally, we must all 
oppose the utter evil of politically correct 
racism by INFORMING EVERYONE – the truth must out.
