Funeral for Richie Perez

It is with extreme sadness and intense grief that I inform the
members of this group that our great leader, comrade, friend,
brother, teacher, mentor, (so many things to so many of us) Richie
Perez passed away this morning.

Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.

He was truly a great man. It was not what he has done and
accomplished--for he has accomplished and greatly contributed in all
of our communities for over 3 decades. He has touched and
transformed many lives.

It was how he did the things he did, with dignity, integrity,
conscientiousness, respect, methodology, intelligence, street
smarts, with no punk in him.

I feel comfortable in speaking for many who knew him that he was a
man of bottomless courage, a role model to all of us--young and
old. And I know many of us who worked with him will continue the
work for social, economic, racial, gender and political justice in
the spirit he has inspired in us all.

The public viewing will be:
Tuesday, March 30th at
Frank Campbell Funeral Home
1076 Madison Ave 81st.

We will post more details as information is released by the family.
You can also call 347-245-0266 for further information.

Richie....thank you...we love you...we'll miss you.

In peace and solidarity,
always, Raybblin
