Funeral for Richie Perez<br><br>

It is with extreme sadness and intense grief that I inform the<br>
members of this group that our great leader, comrade, friend,<br>
brother, teacher, mentor, (so many things to so many of us) Richie<br>
Perez passed away this morning.<br><br>
Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.<br><br>
He was truly a great man. It was not what he has done and<br>
accomplished--for he has accomplished and greatly contributed in
all<br>
of our communities for over 3 decades. He has touched and<br>
transformed many lives.<br><br>
It was how he did the things he did, with dignity, integrity,<br>
conscientiousness, respect, methodology, intelligence, street<br>
smarts, with no punk in him.<br><br>
I feel comfortable in speaking for many who knew him that he was a<br>
man of bottomless courage, a role model to all of us--young and<br>
old. And I know many of us who worked with him will continue the<br>
work for social, economic, racial, gender and political justice in<br>
the spirit he has inspired in us all.<br><br>

Frank Campbell Funeral Home<br>
