This document entitled Chicanos’ Response to Media Lies lays out the ways in which the Denver Police Department distorted and manipulated the facts around the police attack on the Crusade for Justice’s apartment complex and school and the subsequent murder of Luis “Jr.” Martinez. Little has changed regarding media complicity with police violence against Black and Brown communities and like “Jr.”, many of today’s martyrs are tried in the press long before any court proceeding.
