Three youth from the Argentinean province of Neuquen will climb all the
way to the summit of Mt. Aconcagua to demand the freedom of the five
Cuban antiterrorists imprisoned in the US for over 11 years.

Santiago Vega, radio and TV host, Aldo Bonavitta, bank employee and
Alcides Bonavitta, social activist, will initiate the scaling on December
25th in support of the freedom fighters from the island nation.

The brigade members assured that they have made the world-wide demand for
the freedom of Ramon Labaņino, Gerardo Hernandez, Antonio Guerrero,
Fernando Gonzalez and Rene Gonzalez their own cause.

The three Argentinean mountain climbers will take with them a flag with
the logo of the Cuban Five made by Gerardo Hernandez and will plant it on
the summit of Aconcagua, called the roof of the Americas. Aconcagua is
6959 meters (22,841 ft.) above sea level, making it the highest peak in
the Americas. The Aconcagua is situated on the border between Argentina
and Chile, 30 kilometers (one and a half days walking ) on the Inca
Bridge, and is part of the world circuit of the Seven Summits of the
seven continents.

The Five -as they are known in the international campaign for their
freedom- are Heroes of the Republic of Cuba and were condemned in Miami
to excessive sentences for monitoring terrorist organizations based in
Florida.

In solidarity the highly committed climbers will be emulating the
challenge of the young Argentinean, Ernesto Che Guevara, who in the
middle of the last century attempted several times to climb the famous
Mt. Popocatepetl in Mexico.

The expedition will return on January 18, 2010 to the city of Neuquen
after facing the challenges of extreme temperature and the dangers
surrounding this type of climbing.
