Dear Friends of Lynne Stewart,<br>

We are fast approaching the oral argument on the appeal of my
conviction and the government’s appeal of my sentence. December
18th at 2 p.m. I hope that I will see a lot of you there. It
is believed although not certain that the argument will take place in the
ceremonial courtroom at 500 Pearl Street, New York, NY. <br>
<br>
We had a nice turn out at the benefit for the Lynne Stewart Defense
Committee : Marx in Soho, at St. Marks Church on the Bowery. I
didn’t see a lot of you there but I know we are all pulled in many
directions personally and politically. <br>
<br>
I remain free pending the outcome of the appeal, but have not been
in a position to get a paying job. The defense committee continues
to function but we won’t have much of a defense committee if we don’t
raise some funds. We are unable to do a mass mailing or a
newsletter because the cost is prohibitive. We will send out email
updates and a report from the oral argument and of course we will post
the transcripts of the proceeding when available on our website.

In closing I wish all of you happy holidays, and look forward to a
new year of fighting the good fight along side you. Whatever you
