</font><font size=4 color="#000500">On June 21st, Brooklyn police beat
and arrested civil rights attorneys Evelyn and Tarif Warren after the
Warrens stopped their car to ask police why they were kicking and beating
a young man they had already handcuffed and thrown to the
ground.<br><br>
<br>
For stepping forward to inquire into the welfare of another human being,
Tarif Warren was charged with with Obstructing Governmental
Administration, Disorderly Conduct, and Resisting Arrest; Evelyn, with
Disorderly Conduct.<br><br>
<br>
Amazingly, police have not dropped these absurd charges. In fact,
to weaken the Warrens' defense, the prosecution has succeeded in severing
Tarif's and Evelyn's case. Tarif Warren, therefore, was arraigned
in Brooklyn on August 16 -- on September 12, at 2:00 p.m. Evelyn Warren
will be arraigned. <br><br>
<br>
Now, it's our turn to step forward and support these courageous and
ethical people. Please come to court on Wednesday -- show New York
City police that Evelyn and Tarif do not face these charges
alone.<br><br>
