continued to struggle daily for his Human Rights, We

he sends his heartfelt THANKS for the many continued efforts to support
him.

LEGAL : Imam Jamil Al-Amin testified at his Habeus
Corpus hearing which was held February 27, 2007. A summary of
some of the hightlights of that hearing. Attorneys presented
evidence and arguments on fourteen issues /grounds for
reversal including the confession of one Otis Jackson. Pauper status was
conferred on Imam Jamil which will allow his attorneys to get the
transcript of the trial free of charge.. A big help in the financial
struggle.

On September 27, 2007 oral argument is scheduled to be heard in
the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals concerning the opening of
the Imam’s legal mail by Reidsville prison officials. This
Court has appointed a private legal firm to assist Imam
Jamil in all matters related to the suit as well as
placed Reidsville Prison on notice for their continued violations of his
Human Rights. In addition the law firmed refiled the lawsuit
earlier filed by Imam Jamil called the retaliation lawsuit that deals
with many of the GRIEVANCES in past Community Reports and Updates.
No date yet for the hearing of the retaliation lawsuit.

On or about the 9th of July IMAM JAMIL AL-AMIN was
moved after citing an officer for reading his legal mail. He was move to
K3 the mental patients section where he refused to eat because of the
unsanitary way in which the food was prepared and served…in addition Imam
Jamil was falsely cited for assaulting the officer. By the
12th of July Imam Jamil was returned to K4
restarted eating as his food was then properly served as well as a
statement was made by the warden that the charge of assaulting an officer
was false and would be removed from the record. Our Imam thanks everyone
who participated in the massive call in to the prison which undoubtedly
had on effect on the prisons immediate reversal of its stance. Many
of the Prisoners at Reidsville who have stood up demanding
that the Jamil Al-Amin be released from K-BLOCK and be allowed to serve
them as their Imam have been shipped to other prisons
and are being held in lockdown upon arrival. MAY ALLAH reward them
and encourage us to increase our level of struggle as we prepare to carry
the struggle forward if necessary to the federal level and to the
INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS level by pressing our struggle for achieve
self-determination toward freeing the hundreds of others poltical
prisoners languishing in u.s. prisons and jails.
