*Update on Robert Seth Hayes
Urgent Medical Campaign*

On Sunday Nov. 15, when Seth went to medical in the morning, he was
taken out of Sullivan. He was apparently taken to Albany Medical Center,
but the facility never called Sheila to inform her of this. *IT IS
EXTREMELY URGENT THAT PEOPLE MAKE THOSE PHONE CALLS TO DR. KOENIGSMANN'S
OFFICE AND TO NANCY LYNG:*

Dr. Koenigsmann: 518-457-7073 <tel:518-457-7073> (phone) and
518-445-7553 <tel:518-445-7553> (fax)

Nancy Lyng: 518-445-6176 <tel:518-445-6176>

On Saturday Nov. 7, 2015, NYC Jericho received a call from Ori Lumumba
regarding Robert Seth Hayes (#74A2280).

As many of you know, Seth has had a chronic cough since May of this year
for which he did not receive any diagnosis or treatment for many months.

When Seth finally saw the pulmonologist at Coxsackie on Monday, November
2, the doctor wanted to know why the medical personnel at Sullivan had
waited so long to bring Seth for a pulmonary exam. The pulmonologist
intends to schedule for Seth a CT scan, a CT scan of his heart, and
bloodwork. The pulmonologist thought there might be some infection, but
needs more info.

In addition, the facility doctor (Dr. Sidorowicz) told Seth to come to
the clinic to use the nebulizer whenever he feels short of breath. Seth
has been using an inhaler twice a day (Seth does not get to carry his
inhaler, and so needs to go to medical when he gets short of breath) and
also the nebulizer twice a day for a while now, although he does not yet
have a diagnosis of the cause of this chronic cough.

On a prior occasion, C.O. Slater, who escorted Seth to the clinic,
stated that Seth did not really need the nebulizer. Then the nurses did
not attend to Seth, and he had to overcome his difficulty breathing on
his own.

On Saturday, November 7, 2015, the same thing happened again, with C.O.
Slater once again claiming that Seth did not really need the nebulizer.
Seth passed out shortly thereafter and a Code Blue was called on him.

*THIS IS AN UPDATE FROM NATE ON NOVEMBER 11, 2015:*

Seth goes to medical twice daily, once at 7:30 am and once at 5:30 pm to
get his nebulizer and insulin. On Friday, Nov. 6, 2015, while at medical
Seth, as usual, was one of the first in line to get his shot with many
people behind him. He asked for the nebulizer and CO Slater said he
would have to wait, that he didn't need the treatment right then. Seth
would have had to wait for about a half an hour until the rest of the
line got their insulin in order to receive his treatment.

Seth, being fatigued from getting down to medical out of breath and
tired, was seriously frustrated when this CO, who is not a medical
professional, stepped in and no medical staff differed. In protest, Seth
went back to his cell without treatment and did not wait the allotted
half hour. He got his treatment along with his insulin at 5:30.

On Friday night and Saturday morning Seth woke up constantly, which he
does frequently from shortness of breath and coughing. He couldn't go
back to sleep. They took him for a nebulizer treatment at 3 am and he
was back into his bed at 4 am.

The next morning, Saturday, when Seth went to get his shot at 7:30 am,
CO Slater again said the same thing, and Seth again left, even though
noticeably tired and stressed from lack of sleep and walking to medical.
Seth went to work as an escort and passed out around 1 pm while he was
walking. He became short of breath, light headed, dizzy and collapsed
suddenly.

Seth has been on the nebulizer for a month and half. This treatment is
usually only for a week or two at the most. It was effective when it
first started for maybe 3 or 4 days, then Seth said it lost its effect.
It opens up his chest for a shorter and shorter period but does not
clear the liquid out or solve the problem.

Seth cannot sleep. The lipoma near his bladder makes him have to go the
bathroom very often and he worries about his control when he is so out
of breath. He coughs and loses his breath also in the middle of the
night, waking him constantly.

Seth's feet, thighs and entire legs are swollen.

He can make hardly any physical exertion in any form; even walking and
talking are challenging.

The x-ray they took of his chest has not been formally looked at by a
professional yet, but the staff person who took it said unofficially it
was much worse healthwise than the last x-ray.

They keep telling him he "is going to see somebody". He doesn't have
another outside doctor visit until December... that could be in a month
and a half. We are in this mess because DOCCS haven't acted fast enough.

Tonight he had a college class he couldn't make it to because it was too
much. Seth is asking to be "reasonably accommodated" for his condition.
He needs a wheel chair and someone to wheel him around.

I feel if Seth has gained any weight, it is probably from the fluid in
his legs and chest. His stomach is still uncomfortable.

We need people to call Superintendent Keyser at Sullivan specifically
about C.O. Slater interfering with and preventing Seth from receiving
needed medical attention. This C.O. should never accompany Seth to the
medical clinic again. Also ask why the nurses are not following the
facility doctor's medical advice instead of paying attention to C.O.
Slater. Please also demand that Seth receive a wheel chair.

We also need people to call and fax Dr. Koenigsmann and Nancy Lyng in
Albany to demand that Seth receive all needed pulmonary tests as soon as
possible and that C.O. Slater be prohibited from accompanying Seth to
the clinic in the future.

We are demanding that Seth be immediately brought to see a Pulmonary and
Heart Specialist to address his cough, swelling legs, and breathing
difficulties. That secondly the facility stick to the medical plan given
by this specialist. We also are asking that Seth be given a wheel chair
and any other reasonable accommodation for his medical needs.

This is attempted medical murder of one of our beloved freedom fighters
and we must do everything possible to help Seth at this time.
