Thank you for supporting our coalition! Its hard to believe that its
been almost two years since thousands of courageous people in
California's prisons engaged in a peaceful hunger strike to demand basic
human rights. While we've made some progress in this struggle
<http://sfbayview.com/2012/reflections-on-our-accomplishments-so-far-no-more-suffering-in-silence/>,
there is much work left to be done as none of the 5 Core Demands
<http://prisonerhungerstrikesolidarity.wordpress.com/the-prisoners-demands-2/>
has been fully met. Please consider donating to our coalition so that we
are able to continue this important work.

*Upcoming Hunger Strike*

On July 8, 2013 Prisoners at Pelican Bay and other prisons will resume
their hunger strike and begin work stoppages unless the California
Governor Jerry Brown and the California Department of Corrections and
Rehabilitation take decisive action to meet their demands.

*Mobilization to Corcoran State Prison*

On July 13, 2013 the coalition of organizations working in solidarity
with the protesters is planning a state-wide mobilization to Corcoran
State Prison, which isolates over 1,600 people in solitary confinement.
We must take this movement to the prison gates and show Jerry Brown and
the Department of Corrections that we support the prisoners and demand
that Jerry Brown meet with the representatives immediately to negotiate
the end of the strike.

*How you Can Support*

We need your support now more than ever! Please consider making a
donation to our coalition so that we can continue to fight for the human
rights of people in extreme isolation in California prisons. Funds
collected will be used for the July 13 mobilization in addition to other
coalition expenses such as monthly mailings to prisoners, legal visits
to Pelican Bay and Corcoran and other printing expenses. Donations can
be made online at www.prisons.org
<http://prisons.org/Donateinstructions.htm> ; be sure to click the
"Special Instructions" link and write "PHSS" to direct your donation to
us. Or you can write a check to California Prison Focus/PHSS and mail
it to PHSS 1904 Franklin Street #507, Oakland, CA 94612.

We could also use donations of such as food and water for the July 13
mobilization, vans or buses for the caravan to Corcoran.

*Please contact Rachel Herzing, rachel at criticalresistance.org or call
510-444-0484 if you would like to offer assistance in these areas.*
