Israeli forces add to Palestinian political prisoner population
(Ramallah) Maisa Abu Ghazaleh
Tuesday, 12 September 2006
Israeli forces took five Palestinians from Ramallah into its prisons
Tuesday. The Palestinian political prisoner population in Israeli
prisons grows daily. Today's raid on western Ramallah's Kfar Nimeh
Village began with an attack on three houses.
Eyewitnesses report that Israeli forces broke into the home of two
young women. Both are 21 year old Al Quds Open University students
whose brother Israeli forces assassinated a year ago.
The third to be arrested was 22 year old editor, Jamil Dhiab.
The witnesses added that Israeli forces raided a large number of
houses in the village for the second day in a row under the pretext
of searching for "wanted" persons. Israeli soldiers took a 35 year
old, 37 and 38 year old brothers, and the father of the boy who died
yesterday evening in an explosion of unknown origin in the village.
A 17 year old and 35 year old were arrested in an earlier raid.
During pre-dawn invasions Israeli forces arrested six Palestinians
from throughout the West Bank, claiming all were "wanted." In the
southern Gaza Strip Israeli forces took another three Palestinians
from eastern Khan Younis Tuesday morning.
