GRIEVANCES: IMAM JAMIL AL-AMIN, a Political Prisoner who by all 
International and Human Rights Standards and by all standards of decency 
and common sense should not be housed and treated in the manner in which he 
is presently housed and treated. He has filed grievances within the State 
Prison process of reviewing and alleviating grievances. In each case it has 
been determined by Prison officials that no wrongdoing was found on the 
part of any Prison officials. These grievances include:
1. Being denied basic human rights: Confined to a cell at least 
twenty-three hours out each twenty ­four period; denied human contact 
accept for delivery of mail and meals, defined as Administrative Segregation.
2. Being denied religious rights: No communal observance of any official 
Islamic practices (almost all of which are communal). Denied the right to 
attend Salatul Jumu’ah Service, and to serve as Imam to prison population 
of particularly Muslim prisoners and Muslims employees (if there be any). 
In denying these rights to Imam Jamil Al-Amin they in fact deny these 
rights to the prison population.
3. Being denied due process: Although housed in Administratively 
Segregation status since his arrival, he was cited as being in violation of 
a uniform dress inspection
code as the reason for his A.S. status. The violation being not having the 
top buttonhole of a shirt buttoned. As it turns out the uniform dress 
inspection code was for prison employees and not to be for prisoners.
4. Being denied legal rights: Imam Jamil Al-Amin’s legal mail is still 
being opened, read and it’s delivery delayed.
5. Being made to suffer sexual abuse: Imam Jamil was made to submit to a 
strip search and cavity search in the presence of female employees who had 
no valid reason for being present.
6. Loss of visiting privileges: Without any evidence and without a hearing 
of any kind, a fellow Imam was denied the privilege of visiting with Imam 
Jamil Al-Amin on the basis that it was alleged that he smuggled a candy bar 
to him.
7. Loss of phone privileges: Although the phone and phone calling process 
is totally under the prison administration control (they bring him the 
phone and take away the phone) the claim is that he has abused the phone 
privilege.
8. Loss of commissary privilege: He is temporarily denied access to the 
prison’s commissary.
9. Failing in all attempts thus far employed to break his will the STATE 
has escalated their attempts at assassination of IMAM JAMIL AL-AMIN. He has 
complained of experiencing two episodes of FOOD POISONING in the past two 
months.
