The Ministry of Interior and National Security in Gaza
announced on Sunday that it has begun implementing measures to restore
order and stability across the Strip, following the entry into force of
the ceasefire agreement.

In an official statement, the ministry said that a door to
repentance and general amnesty has been opened for individuals who
joined criminal gangs during the war but were not involved in murder.

These individuals are required to surrender themselves to the
security services within one week \u2014 starting Monday morning and ending
on Sunday, October 19, 2025 \u2014 in order to settle their legal and
security status and permanently close their files.

The ministry stated that the amnesty initiative stems from the
values of justice and national responsibility, aiming to preserve
internal unity, strengthen the home front, fortify society, and
reestablish public order.

It added that certain criminal gangs had taken advantage of the
chaos of war to undermine civil peace, looting humanitarian aid and
attacking citizens\u2019 property. Those eligible for amnesty include
individuals who joined these gangs but did not participate in killings
or crimes against fellow Palestinians.

The Interior Ministry also warned that anyone who refuses to
surrender or continues to violate the law will face decisive action in
accordance with legal procedures, emphasizing that it will not allow any
breach of public security or citizens\u2019 rights under any circumstances.

Meanwhile, a senior source in Gaza\u2019s Interior Ministry told
Al-Jazeera that clashes erupted on Sunday between security forces and
\u201carmed militias affiliated with the occupation,\u201d resulting in several
deaths and injuries.

According to the source, members of the militia opened fire on
displaced Palestinians returning from southern Gaza to Gaza City.
Security forces have since surrounded the militia elements inside the
city and are working to apprehend them.

The ministry reaffirmed its determination to restore order,
ensure the safety of returning citizens, and hold those responsible for
the killings accountable.

The Interior Ministry\u2019s efforts come as its forces continue to
deploy across areas from which the Israeli occupation army has
withdrawn.

Over the past months, with Israeli support, armed groups had
formed\u2014some engaging in theft and looting, others, such as the group led
by Yasser Abu Shabab, reportedly collaborating with the occupation and
acting against the resistance.

Since the ceasefire took effect at noon on Friday, more than
half a million displaced Palestinians have returned to Gaza City and the
northern areas of the Strip.
