<p>The Israeli military confirmed on Saturday <a href="https://english.almayadeen.net/news/politics/gaza-resistance-targets-israeli-troops--assets--casualties-c" target="_blank" rel="noopener">that an officer was killed</a> in southern Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip, according to Israeli media reports.</p>
<p>He was named as Lt. Ori Gerlic, 20, a platoon commander in the Kfir Brigade\u2019s Shimshon Battalion, from Meitar.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, the Palestinian Resistance <a href="https://english.almayadeen.net/news/politics/al-quds-brigades-destroy-israeli-vehicles-in-al-zaytoun--gaz" target="_blank" rel="noopener">continues its operations against</a> the invading Israeli forces across multiple fronts, inflicting both human and material losses on the Israeli military.</p>
<p>The al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced <a href="https://english.almayadeen.net/news/politics/gaza-resistance-intensifies-ops-unhindered--honors-martyr-ha" target="_blank" rel="noopener">that they had targeted two Israeli</a>
tanks with high-explosive improvised explosive devices (IEDs), east of
the al-Rawda site in the southern al-Zaytoun neighborhood of Gaza City.
The Brigades reported that its fighters observed a rescue force arriving
at the scene.</p>
<p>The al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades released footage documenting a joint
operation with the al-Nasser Salah al-Din Brigades, the military wing of
the Popular Resistance Committees, in which they targeted a gathering
of Israeli soldiers and <a href="https://english.almayadeen.net/news/politics/palestinian-resistance-targets-israeli-forces--seizes-drone" target="_blank" rel="noopener">military vehicles with mortar shells</a> in the vicinity of Villas Street, north of Khan Younis.</p>
<p>On August 22, the al-Qassam Brigades announced that they had <a href="https://english.almayadeen.net/news/politics/al-qassam-ambush-israeli-soldiers--target-their-vehicles-in" target="_blank" rel="noopener">fatally shot an Israeli soldier</a>
with machine gun fire as he exited a Merkava tank in the vicinity of
Badr Mosque, south of the al-Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City.</p>
<p>Additionally, the al-Quds Brigades <a href="https://english.almayadeen.net/news/politics/palestinian-resistance-strikes-occupation-command-posts-acro" target="_blank" rel="noopener">stated that it shelled Israeli military machinery</a>
positioned near the al-Muhandis Hall in the al-Satar al-Gharbi area of
northern Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip using standard 60mm
mortar rounds.</p>
<p>Before that, on August 21, the al-Quds Brigades released footage of a
coordinated ambush, carried out jointly with the al-Qassam Brigades,
that targeted Israeli armored vehicles with explosives and anti-tank
shells east of the al-Shujaiya neighborhood in Gaza City.</p></div></div></div>
