GAZA, (PIC)

The Hams Movement said on Tuesday that it responded to the mediators’
request to discuss new proposals for a ceasefire and prisoner exchange,
and started holding some meetings in this regard.

In a statement, Hamas affirmed its openness to any agreement or ideas
that would end the suffering of the Palestinians in Gaza and lead to a
permanent ceasefire, and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the
entire Strip.

Hamas also stressed the need to agree on a serious prisoner swap
deal, end the siege on Gaza, and provide its population with immediate
relief, support and shelter as part of any ceasefire agreement.

Hamas urged the leaders of the Arab and Muslim nations to honor the
sacrifices of the Palestinian people, overstep any US pressures and
dictates, and take a historic step that ends the siege on northern Gaza
immediately and stops the aggression against Gaza.

Hamas also called on them to work on providing the Gaza population
with food, medical and fuel supplies to save hundreds of thousands of
lives in northern Gaza in particular.

Hamas called for effective pressure on Israel’s supporters to curb
its crimes and its destruction of all aspects of human life in Gaza.

Hamas criticized some Arab countries for not severing their ties with
the Israeli occupation state. “It is unreasonable to see some of our
Arab countries insist on their relations and normalization with the
occupation while many foreign countries took the initiative in this
regard.”

“The Palestinian people in the northern Gaza Strip have been
subjected to brutal genocide for more than three consecutive weeks, and
93 people, mostly children and women, were martyred in the Beit Lahia
massacre this morning,” Hamas said, appealing to the Arab and Muslim
nations, their leaders, parties and groups as well as the world’s free
people to take immediate action to save the Palestinians in northern
Gaza.

In a related context, Qatar said on Tuesday that its mediation
efforts aimed at establishing a ceasefire in Gaza are ongoing,
expressing optimism for an agreement ending the war on Gaza.

“The efforts are ongoing, and we hope for a breakthrough,” foreign
ministry spokesperson Majed al-Ansari told a news conference in Doha,
following a recent round of talks hosted by Qatar.
