An Israeli airstrike targeting a healthcare center in southern
Lebanon killed two paramedics and completely destroyed the facility.

The Lebanese Civil Defense announced this morning that two of
its paramedics were killed yesterday in an airstrike carried out by the
Israeli warplanes on a healthcare center in the town of Bint Jbeil,
southern Lebanon.

Lebanon’s Ministry of Health strongly condemned the deadly
attack, which resulted in the killing of Civil Defense personnel and the
complete destruction of the facility, along with damage to a number of
ambulances belonging to the center.

The Ministry emphasized that this attack is not the first of
its kind since the start of the Israeli aggression on southern Lebanon,
as multiple health centers have previously been targeted by Israeli
shelling, in violation of international laws and conventions, especially
the Fourth Geneva Convention.

It underscored the necessity of neutralizing health centers and
healthcare workers engaged in medical and humanitarian activities that
should not be obstructed or targeted amid the current challenging
circumstances.

According to the Ministry, the continued Israeli violations
pose a serious threat and are a matter for the international community,
particularly humanitarian organizations such as the World Health
Organization and the International Committee of the Red Cross, which
emphasize the need to protect healthcare workers and their facilities,
as well as their means of transportation.

Border War

Since the start of the Israeli war on Gaza, on October 7, the
Lebanese movement Hezbollah has engaged directly, but relatively in a
limited way in the war against the Israeli occupation.

Israel has occupied parts of Lebanon for decades and has only
left the country in 2000, following stiff Lebanese resistance under
Hezbollah’s leadership.

It attempted to re-occupy Lebanon in 2006 but failed in what Lebanon considers a major victory against Israel.

Israel, however, continues to occupy parts of Lebanon, namely the Sheeba Farms region.

Hezbollah has vowed to recover every inch of Lebanon that has been occupied by Israel contrary to international law.
