Ramallah (QNN)- Lawyers for Justice said that it has documented 20
political arrests by the Palestinian Authority following the recent
uprising.

In a press release, the watchdog said that the arrests targeted
activists and former prisoners over social media posts or taking part in
protests in solidarity with Jerusalem and Gaza.

It added that some detainees were tortured, beaten, and humiliated,
which “constitutes an obvious breach of the Palestinian and
international laws”.

The detainees were also denied their right to meet their lawyers.

The PA’s campaign of arrests is taking place at the same time as
Israeli “law and order” operation within the 1948 territories, where
hundreds of Palestinian citizens of ‘Israel’ have been rounded up.
