who will speak about psychosocial programming for children and youth in
Gaza.</span></p>

center that Ayman Nijim helps to run. MECA director Barbara Lubin will

<i>Afaq Jadeeda</i>
is an organization that provides a wide range of psycho-social support
to
children and youth in Nuseriat Refugee Camp in Gaza. Ayman is currently
in
the US as a visiting practitioner with </span><a moz-do-not-send="true"
href="http://www.ittp.org" target="_blank"><span
style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial;">International Trauma
Treatment Program.</span></a><span
style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial; color: rgb(26, 26, 26);">
We met Mr. Nijim in 2011 working in Gaza on the </span><a
moz-do-not-send="true" href="http://www.maiamuralproject.org"
target="_blank"><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial;">MAIA
Mural
Brigade</span></a><span
style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial; color: rgb(26, 26, 26);">.<span>
</span>In collaboration with Afaq Jadeeda,
local artists, youth and activists, the MAIA Mural Brigade completed 8
murals
on the sites of water filtration systems being installed by </span><a
moz-do-not-send="true" href="http://www.mecaforpeace.org"
target="_blank"><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial;">MECA</span></a><span
style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Arial; color: rgb(26, 26, 26);">.<span>
</span>These
systems provide water to 34,000 children and their families who would
otherwise
lack access to clean water.</span></p>
