pledges an additional $1 million to Hurricane relief efforts <br><br>

reports</b></font><font face="georgia" size=3> that CITGO Petroleum

Corporation president and CEO Felix Rodriguez announced the company has

pledged an additional $1 million towards Hurricane Katrina relief

efforts, bringing the total so far pledged by the company to $2 million.

<dd>"CITGO employees are actively participating in relief efforts in

those cities where the company has a presence and evacuees are being

received," Rodriguez said. "We continue to monitor the

situation and stand ready to help in every way we can." <br><br>

</dl><font face="georgia" size=2>The additional funds will be used to

help with relief efforts in cities such as Houston and Corpus Christi,

Texas, and Lake Charles and Baton Rouge (Louisiana), he noted. <br><br>

</b></font><font face="georgia" size=3>Rodriguez made the announcement at

a press conference in Chicago and reaffirmed the commitment while

attending the Muscular Dystrophy Association's Annual Telethon in Los

Angeles this weekend. <br><br>

CITGO, owned by PDV America, Inc ... an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary

of Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) has worked with MDA for the past 20

years. This year the company is presenting checks totaling $8 million for

the fight against neuromuscular disease. The funds have been raised by

the company's marketers, employees and business associates. <br><br>
