Maha Abu-Dayyeh Shammas is the co-founder and present Director of the
Women's Center for Legal Aid and Counseling (WCLAC), which provides
comprehensive services to women victims of discrimination and abuse, and
a comprehensive strategy for local, regional and international lobbying
in the area of law and women's human rights on behalf of Palestinian
women.<br><br>
A radical feminist thinker and activist, she currently analyzes the
Intifada in terms of legal standards governing Israel's occupation, its
use of force and exercise of effective control, and the Palestinian
resistance to Israel's unlawful policies and practices and<br>
efforts to end occupation.<br><br>
