The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee-San Francisco and
the
Justice in Palestine Coalition are calling for a day of protest of
the
“Israel in the Ball Park Day.”--56 years of Israeli apartheid and
ethnic
cleansing of Palestinians should not be celebrated.

June 6th 2004 is being promoted as “Israel in the Ball Park Day” in
San
Francisco. But, for all people of conscience, June 6th marks
another
tragic day in Palestinian history. June 6th marks the expulsion
and
dispossession of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians after the
1967
Israeli occupation of the West Bank, Eastern Jerusalem and the Gaza
Strip.

Today there are 7 million Palestinian refugees and displaced
persons.
The displacement, destruction and dispossession of the Palestinian nation
continue with impunity. The UN Security Council has passed more
than 200
resolutions on the Palestinian Arab-Israeli conflict. UN
resolutions
calling on Israel to comply with international law have been vetoed
more
than 50 times by the United States.

Last month both Amnesty International and the UN accused Israel of
committing “grave breaches of the Fourth Geneva Convention” and war
crimes in Gaza where over 50 Palestinian civilians were killed or injured
and thousands more were made homeless during two weeks of terror.
The
United States continues providing billions of dollars of aid to
Israel
despite its flagrant disregard for international and human rights
law.

ADC-SF and the Coalition for Justice in Palestine demand that Israel
be
held accountable. San Francisco should not celebrate any country
that
sanctions and supports apartheid and terror.
