Children Killed, 6,000 Made Homeless and 2,000 Arrested Since Sept. 2000,

+ WAFA)--</font><font face="arial" size=2> Marking the World’s Child Day
and the signing of the international convention of the child rights, the
UN Children's Fund<b> </b>(UNICEF) found out that the number of the
Palestinian children killed by the Israeli occupying forces reached 573,
more than 2,500 houses were demolished, further 6,000 children were made
homeless and 2,000 others were arrested since September 2000. <br><br>

The UNECEF in the West Bank released a report on the Child Day, which
figured out that 53% of the Palestinian population in the West Bank and
Gaza Strip were below 18 year old, making up 1.8 millions children.
Meanwhile, the rate of the children going to school from (5-18 years old)
was about 1.2 million.<br><br>

The report heeded the attention that such considerable figures might
liable to rising if the report tackled the number of the casualties

teachers, making up 9% of the UNRWA teachers, found difficulties reaching
their schools that inflicted losses to the UNRWA of $230,831. <br><br>

As for the downfall in academic achievement, the report asserted that
despite the low rate of school fallout among the Palestinian students due
to attending their class in other schools, the learning was still falling
down, resulted from the constant closure, the construction of the
Apartheid Wall and violence. Thus, the learning downfall of the UNRAWA
school year (2003-2004) got higher compared to (2000-2001). <br>
