Chavez Frias warns that Bush 2 is destabilizing Venezuela<br><br>
</font><font face="georgia" size=3>President Hugo Chavez Frias says his
opponents are following a plan of violence against his government that
was "Made in the USA" ... and referencing events in Haiti, he
says that US President George W. Bush does not have the integrity to draw
the line at kidnapping other countries' Presidents. <br><br>
</font><font face="georgia" size=2><b>However, he warns: "Here in
Venezuela the United States will get 'a little surprise' if they try the
same thing..." <br><br>
</b></font><font face="georgia" size=3>Chavez Frias showed pictures taken
by security forces in the thick of opposition-inspired riots over the
last week which ended in seven deaths, 200 injuries and 300 arrests.
Chavez Frias claims that opposition rioters used machineguns and rifle
fire against the National Guard (GN) and innocent bystanders ... "I
have no doubt ... we have experienced organized subversion groups armed
with military weapons, supported by the Metropolitan Police (PM) as a
private army of the so-called Coordinadora Democratica (CD) ... their
strategy was designed in Washington ... Made in the USA!"<br><br>
</font><font face="georgia" size=2>It is the second time that Chavez
Frias has accused US President George W. Bush, despite Bush's Saturday
statement in which he said that the United States work with the
Organization of American States (OAS) to help guarantee the integrity of
the Presidential recall and the referendum demanded by the Venezuelan
opposition. <br><br>
</font><font face="georgia" size=3>"The plan is not Venezuelan in
origin, Chavez Frias says ... "Bush's government has its hands deep
in the destabilization plan against Venezuela, against our people,
against Venezuelan institutions, against Venezuelan
democracy." He says the Haitian leader was the victim of an
"express kidnapping" although Washington has been at pains to
claim that Aristide resigned voluntarily when it became apparent that no
foreign troops would "protect him" from the rebel forces bent
on ousting and assassinating him. "The US government does not
draw the line at kidnapping Presidents. Here in Venezuela, I tell
you ... they'd better not try something similar because they'll get a
little surprise!"<br><br>
</font><font face="georgia" size=2><b>Chavez insists that the Bush 2
administration was behind a coup d'etat against him in April 2002, and
that the Pentagon had sent planes and warships into Venezuela waters ...
although this too has been denied by Washington.<br><br>
</b></font><font face="georgia" size=3>Chavez Frias says the US
government had scrambled planes and ships to spirit him out of Venezuela
... or to drop him into the sea from a helicopter ... "What is
Washington trying to do? Destabilize its secure source of oil? I
simply cannot understand Bush's attitude backing coupsters ... if they
kidnap me, my friends would resist with everything we have and begin a
100-year war against US imperialism ... not only in Venezuela but all
over Latin America and the Caribbean." <br><br>
