<b>Demonstrate for Kate and to Stop the Wall<br>
Tuesday, 4-6 p.m. at the Israeli Consulate, 456 Montgomery<br>

</b>Kate Raphael, a lesbian from the Bay Area, was arrested in Palestine
on December 31 when she was videotaping Israeli soldiers who attacked a
peaceful demonstration by Budrus villagers and Israeli and international
supporters against Israel's Apartheid Wall. The 400 mile long, 25
foot high Wall is slated to surround the community of Budrus. The Israeli
government has ordered the deportation of Kate and three other
internationals arrested at the demonstration. Kate is resisting
deportation, and has been held since December 31 in a prison in
Hadera. <br><br>
Activists from several groups in the Bay Area are calling a demonstration
for TUESDAY, JAN. 6, 4-6 p.m. at the ISRAELI CONSULATE in San Francisco,
456 Montgomery St. (at California). <br>

The demonstration will demand that the Israeli government:<br>
<br>
Immediately release Kate, annul her deportation order, and cease all
actions against her and other human rights activists <br>
Stop the apartheid wall <br>
Withdraw from the occupied territories <br>
Recognize the right of return for all Palestinians<br><br>
Kate is a member of the International Women's Peace Service (IWPS) which
is documenting human rights abuses, and taking non-violent actions to
oppose land confiscations, home demolitions, imprisonments, restrictions
on movement, etc. She has initiated a project, Neighbor to
Neighbor, bringing Israelis on reality tours through occupied Palestine
and training them to share what they have learned in their
communities. Kate is determined to continue this important work and
will take her case to remain in Palestine to the Israeli Supreme Court if
necessary.<br>
