targeting paramedics deliberately and bombing dozens of towns across the
South and western Bekaa.

Fifteen people were martyred, among them two girls, and several others were
wounded in Israeli attacks that targeted the western Bekaa town of
Mashghara overnight Monday, according to a preliminary toll released by the
Lebanese Health Ministry.

*Al Mayadeen's* correspondent noted that search and rescue operations for
missing persons were still ongoing at multiple strike sites. Local media
outlets reported that among those martyred were an elderly man and his
wife, members of the Rizk family, including Sheikh Hussein Rizk, Samir
Rizk, Hamza Rizk, and his two daughters, and a young woman and her parents
from the Mansour family.

Israeli occupation forces continued their assault
<https://english.almayadeen.net/news/politics/iof-aggression-on-south-lebanon-intensifies--several-killed>
on Tuesday, bombing towns and villages across southern Lebanon and the
western Bekaa from the early morning hours.
Yohmor al-Shaqif under attack

Yohmor al-Shaqif, in the Nabatieh district, bore the brunt of the morning's
attacks, coming under repeated airstrikes and artillery shelling throughout
the day, totalling roughly 22 attacks. The town sits adjacent to Zawtar
al-Sharqiyah, which was also bombed multiple times.

Zawtar al-Sharqiyah has seen ongoing ground confrontations between the
Islamic Resistance in Lebanon and Israeli occupation forces near local
riverbeds, with the IOF repeatedly attempting to push into the area and
being repelled each time.

Elsewhere, Israeli warplanes bombed the towns of Srifa, Kafra, Majdal
Selem, al-Rayhan, and Deir al-Zahrani, while drone strikes targeted
Nabatieh al-Fawqa and Deir Qanoun Ras al-Ain.
Paramedics, dams targeted

In a particularly egregious strike, an Israeli drone attacked a unit
affiliated with the Islamic Risala Scout Association

in Srifa, killing one paramedic and wounding two others.

The Lebanese Health Ministry condemned the attack, saluting the "heroic
sacrifices" of Lebanese paramedics in the face of Israeli barbarity and
stating that the occupation remains bound by no international humanitarian
law, no resolutions, and no norms, emphasizing that "the law of the jungle"
is the only law its attacks have ever demonstrated.

Furthermore, artillery shelling hit al-Mansouri and the outskirts of
Kfartebnit, while a "fire belt" was reported in the outskirts of
al-Sultaniyah. In western Bekaa, Israeli warplanes bombed the bridge
adjacent to the Qaraoun Lake dam twice, while a drone struck the outskirts
of al-Kharayeb in the Saida district.

Meanwhile, overnight Monday into Tuesday
<https://english.almayadeen.net/news/politics/-israel--unleashes-attacks--death-on-south-lebanon--bekaa-va>,
Israeli warplanes bombed al-Rayhan, al-Sharqiyah, al-Duwayr, Zawtar
al-Sharqiyah, Qaaqaiyet al-Jisr, Shhour, Srifa, Yater, Kafra, al-Hosh,
Selaa, and Arzoun.

Artillery shelling simultaneously targeted Mayfadoun, Zawtar al-Sharqiyah,
Zawtar al-Gharbiyah, Majdal Selem, Qabrikha, Froun, Kafra, Haddatha, Haris,
Srifa, and Qaaqaiyet al-Jisr.
Monday's assault: Most massive since the ceasefire

Tuesday's aggression follows what a Lebanese military source described to *RIA
Novosti* as the most massive single-day attack
<https://english.almayadeen.net/news/politics/-most-massive-attack-since-ceasefire---iof-bombs-47--towns-i>
on Lebanon since the April 16 ceasefire agreement.

Israeli warplanes bombed 47 towns and villages across seven districts on
Monday, from the southern border towns to the western Bekaa, combining
airstrikes, artillery, phosphorous shelling near Tyre, and drone strikes on
vehicles and roads.

Zawtar al-Sharqiyah was bombed ten times, Nabatieh city seven times,
Mashghara six times, and al-Sultaniyah five times. At least three people
were martyred in Arab Salim, four martyred and three injured in a strike on
the Kfarrouman cemetery, and one civilian was martyred on the Khardali road.
Terrorizing civilians to compensate for battlefield failure

The pattern behind this escalating violence is not difficult to read. The
Islamic Resistance in Lebanon has been conducting an average of 24
operations per day against Israeli occupation forces, with FPV drones
<https://english.almayadeen.net/news/politics/hezbollah-drone-strategy-evolves-to-targeting-iof-officers>
hunting down IOF soldiers, vehicles, and positions on a near-daily basis.

Facing sustained losses it cannot publicly absorb and constrained by the
ceasefire agreement from striking Beirut and its Southern Suburb, "Israel"
has redirected the full weight of its aggression onto southern Lebanese
towns, villages, and civilians.

The logic is the same one it has always applied: when it cannot defeat the
Resistance
<https://english.almayadeen.net/news/politics/excl--footage--hezbollah-strikes-target-israeli-command-in-s>
on the ground, it punishes the population around it.

Israeli media acknowledged the depth of the crisis. *Yedioth Ahronoth*
described Hezbollah's FPV drones as having evolved into a strategic threat
<https://english.almayadeen.net/news/politics/hezbollah-s-fpvs-have-turned-into-a-strategic-threat--israel>,
with engineering vehicles withdrawn from the field and demolition
contractors restricted to nighttime operations only.

Former head of the Israeli Foreign Affairs and Security Committee Ofer
Shelah warned this week that the current military presence in southern
Lebanon risks ending exactly as it did in May 2000, describing it as "a
recipe for disaster
<https://english.almayadeen.net/news/politics/ex-israeli-official--we-will-flee-from-lebanon-just-like-in>"
and stating that Israeli soldiers "achieve no objective" there.

As of the evening of May 25, the Lebanese Health Ministry's updated toll
stands at 3,185 civilians martyred and 9,633 wounded since March 2.
