Gaza officials warned of worsening mass hunger as aid shortages and
territorial restrictions deepen humanitarian collapse.

Key Developments

   - Gaza officials warned the Strip has entered its most dangerous stage
   of organized mass starvation.
   - Aid deliveries have reportedly fallen far below agreed levels since
   the ceasefire agreement.
   - Israel’s “Yellow Line” now controls much of Gaza’s land and cripples
   economic activity.

Gaza is entering what officials described as its most dangerous stage of
organized mass hunger, as worsening aid shortages and expanding territorial
restrictions combine to deepen a broader humanitarian and economic collapse
across the besieged Strip.

Warnings issued by Gaza’s Government Media Office coincided with new
economic assessments suggesting that ongoing restrictions and territorial
measures are reshaping both Gaza’s geography and its economic future.

The developments add to growing concerns that conditions once considered
temporary wartime disruptions are becoming structural realities with
long-term consequences.
Deepening Hunger Crisis

The Government Media Office in Gaza warned that Israeli restrictions
continue using food, medicine and humanitarian assistance as pressure tools
against more than two million Palestinians living under increasingly severe
conditions.

According to the office, aid deliveries since the ceasefire agreement have
fallen significantly below required levels.

Officials said more than 131,000 aid trucks were expected to enter Gaza
following the ceasefire, but only around 48,600 reportedly arrived,
representing approximately 37 percent of planned deliveries.

The situation reportedly deteriorated further during May.

Between May 1 and May 18, officials said approximately 10,800 trucks were
expected, while only 2,719 entered Gaza, reducing implementation levels to
roughly one quarter of expected deliveries.

Authorities warned that what they described as a policy of “humanitarian
drip-feeding” has depleted food reserves and forced reductions in aid
programs.

Officials said more than 250,000 families now rely entirely on humanitarian
relief, while over 1.5 million people face worsening risks linked to food
insecurity.

The office also accused Israeli authorities of preventing the entry of
meat, frozen food and essential supplies.

Power shortages and fuel restrictions, officials said, have further
disrupted refrigeration systems, increasing food spoilage and contributing
to rising cases of poisoning and malnutrition, particularly among children,
displaced Palestinians and elderly residents.
Gaza’s Economic Transformation

As humanitarian conditions continue deteriorating, analysts warned that
broader territorial changes are also reshaping Gaza’s economic foundations.

Economic analyst Ahmad Abu Qamar told Quds News Network that the so-called
“Yellow Line” has evolved beyond a military or security measure and now
functions as an instrument affecting both geography and economic life
inside Gaza.

According to Abu Qamar, the zone currently affects roughly 60 percent of
Gaza’s territory.

He said the restrictions now encompass more than 80 percent of agricultural
lands that once formed the backbone of local food production and supported
thousands of families.

Prior to the war, Gaza contained approximately 195,000 dunums of
agricultural land, including about 95,000 dunums actively used for crops
and fruit production.

Agriculture previously accounted for more than 11 percent of Gaza’s
economic output.

Large portions of that system, Abu Qamar said, have now become inaccessible
or destroyed.

He also pointed to extensive damage affecting industrial areas throughout
northern, eastern and southern Gaza.
Economy Reduced to Survival

The analyst said current indicators reflect an unprecedented economic
collapse.

Economic contraction reportedly exceeded 87 percent during 2025 compared to
pre-war levels.

Unemployment has reportedly risen beyond 80 percent while poverty rates
have surpassed 90 percent of the population.

According to Abu Qamar, hundreds of thousands of families have lost their
primary income sources while farmers and small business owners have
suffered severe financial losses.

He warned that the most significant danger lies not only in the scale of
destruction itself but in the broader transformation now underway.

Preventing land from being cultivated, shutting down industrial production
and paralyzing commercial activity, he said, risks gradually shifting Gaza
from a society built around production and labor into one dependent almost
entirely on aid and basic survival.

The warnings come amid increasing concern among humanitarian organizations
that Gaza’s deepening hunger crisis and economic collapse are no longer
developing as parallel emergencies but as interconnected consequences
shaping the Strip’s future.
