Iran’s *Fars News Agency* reported Monday that a US Navy frigate was struck
by two missiles after ignoring repeated warnings issued by Iranian forces.
According to the report, the vessel was operating near the Strait of
Hormuz, in waters around the port of Jask.

The agency stated that the American frigate was attempting to cross the
Strait of Hormuz, "violating the security of traffic and navigation" in
waters near the port of Jask. It was hit by two missiles, which forced it
to halt its movement and turn back, withdrawing from the area.
Iranian military statements and warnings

A military source quoted by *Tasnim News Agency* said Iran remains on high
alert in the Strait of Hormuz and is prepared for all possible scenarios,
while cautioning against US attempts to carry out "bully" tactics in the
region.

The same source revealed that Iranian forces had already fired at US naval
vessels
<https://english.almayadeen.net/news/politics/iranian-forces-target-uss-abraham-lincoln--forcing-withdrawa>
that attempted to violate the established maritime rules, further asserting
that no foreign combat vessels would be permitted passage without prior
authorization from Iranian authorities.

The source also advised all ships to take lessons from past experiences and
avoid the consequences of "American follies", adding that Tehran has
prepared additional scenarios ready for immediate implementation if
operational conditions require it.
IRGC monitoring of maritime routes

Iranian television reported that all entry and exit routes in the Strait of
Hormuz are under continuous surveillance by the Iranian Navy
<https://english.almayadeen.net/news/politics/iran-unveils-new-control-measures-over-strait-of-hormuz-tran>,
adding that naval coordination systems monitor vessel movements and manage
passage permissions in the area.

It also described queues of ships waiting for authorization to pass through
the strait, stating that maritime traffic operates under a "new Iranian
navigation framework

managed by Iranian naval authorities.

In this context, earlier today, Iranian Major General Ali Abdollahi,
commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, stated that Iran’s
armed forces serve as the sole guarantor of security

in the Strait of Hormuz, underscoring their full control over the strategic
waterway.

Abdollahi stated that the Strait of Hormuz's security is managed entirely
by Iran, noting: "We repeatedly state that the security of the Strait of
Hormuz is in the hands of the Iranian armed forces
<https://english.almayadeen.net/news/politics/iran-maintains-strategic-leverage-as-us-has-no-exit-strategy>,
and that any safe passage in the strait is coordinated with our forces".

The Iranian commander explained that all commercial vessels and oil tankers

must coordinate in advance with the Iranian forces before crossing the
strait, urging vessels to avoid attempting transit without such
coordination to ensure their safety.

In a direct warning to the United States and other foreign military forces,
he said that "the US military and any foreign armed forces will be
attacked" if they attempt to approach or enter the strait, referring to US
officials as "criminals" and the US military as “aggressor terrorists”
engaged in “piracy and theft in open waters.”
