Hezbollah’s Qassem vows resistance without limits, calls for unity, and
describes the war as a US–Israel assault on Lebanon.
Key Takeaways
- Qassem says resistance will continue without limits until Israeli
aggression on Lebanon is stopped.
- He describes the conflict as a direct US–Israel war targeting
Lebanon’s sovereignty and future.
- He calls for national unity, warning that division serves Israeli
expansion and occupation goals.
Resistance Stands
Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem declared that the resistance
in Lebanon will continue “without a ceiling,” emphasizing that the ongoing
confrontation is an existential battle against a broader US–Israeli project
in the region.
In a statement on Wednesday, Qassem said that it is now clear that Lebanon
faces a strategic choice: either surrender its land, sovereignty, and
future, or confront the occupation through sustained resistance.
He stated:
“We are faced with two choices: either surrender and abandon our land,
dignity, sovereignty, and future generations, or inevitable confrontation
and resistance to prevent the occupation from achieving its goals.”
Qassem stressed that the resistance has prepared adequately and remains
determined to continue, describing fighters as ready to make sacrifices
“without limits.”
War Defined
Qassem rejected any framing of the conflict as a proxy war, stating clearly
that what is unfolding is a direct assault on Lebanon.
He said:
“There is no war for others on Lebanese soil; it is a war by Israel and
America against Lebanon.”
He described the confrontation as defensive, aimed at protecting Lebanon,
its people, and its territory, while accusing Israel and the United States
of seeking to strip the country of its sovereignty and control its
political future.
According to Qassem, the ongoing aggression — which he said has continued
for more than 15 months — reflects a broader project of domination and
expansion.
He warned that the objective is not limited to military pressure, but
includes efforts to destabilize Lebanon internally, weaken its
institutions, and impose political outcomes favorable to Israeli interests.
Expansion Project
Qassem argued that the war must be understood within the context of a
larger regional strategy.
He said that the US and Israel are pursuing what he described as the
project of “Greater Israel,” based on expansion and occupation “from the
Euphrates to the Nile,” explicitly including Lebanon.
He added that Israeli actions over the past months demonstrate that
agreements are not being respected, noting that the aggression did not stop
despite previous understandings and has continued steadily.
National Duty
The Hezbollah leader framed resistance as a collective national
responsibility, not limited to one group or faction.
He said:
“The responsibility of confronting the aggression is a national
responsibility for everyone — government, people, army, parties, and all
citizens.”
Qassem warned that attempts to disarm the resistance under pressure from
Israel would leave Lebanon vulnerable, describing such moves as a path
toward losing sovereignty and enabling occupation.
He also rejected negotiations conducted under fire, stating that engaging
with Israel while attacks continue would amount to an imposed surrender and
the stripping of Lebanon’s defensive capabilities.
Unity Call
Qassem placed particular emphasis on national unity, presenting it as a
decisive factor in confronting the ongoing war.
He said unity would “make the enemy despair of occupying Lebanon” and
shorten the duration of the conflict, urging all political and social
forces to rally around a single objective: stopping the aggression and
liberating the land.
He added that unity requires avoiding decisions that inadvertently serve
Israeli objectives, including policies that criminalize resistance while
the occupation and attacks continue.
Civilian Toll
Qassem highlighted the human cost of the war, accusing Israel and the
United States of targeting civilians and destroying infrastructure.
He said the aggression is killing civilians, destroying homes, displacing
entire communities, and devastating agricultural life, describing it as an
attempt to erase both the population and the means of survival.
Despite this, he insisted that the resistance remains confident, stating:
“This resistance will not be defeated… we are reassured and confident that
there will be no defeat, no matter the sacrifices.”
Iran Reference
Qassem also pointed to Iran’s confrontation with the United States and
Israel as an example of resilience, describing it as a model of
steadfastness against global pressure.
He said that Iran has stood firm against what he described as the most
powerful forces in the world and expressed confidence that it will
ultimately prevail.
According to Qassem, every victory against US and Israeli power benefits
the broader region, reinforcing the position of resistance movements.
