IRGC Navy drones struck the USS Abraham Lincoln after it approached the
Strait of Hormuz, as Tehran expands attacks on US bases across the region.

Iran announced on Thursday that drones belonging to the naval forces of the
Islamic Revolution Guards Corps struck US aircraft carrier USS Abraham
Lincoln after it approached Iranian territorial waters in the Sea of Oman.

According to the spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central
Headquarters, the vessel was hit directly by Iranian drones

when it moved to within 340 kilometers of Iran’s territorial waters as part
of what an attempt to assert control over the Strait of Hormuz.

The spokesperson said the USS Abraham Lincoln retreated rapidly from the
area following the strike, accompanied by its escorting destroyers, adding
that the carrier group has since withdrawn to a distance exceeding 1,000
kilometers from the region.
Iran expands strikes against US bases across region

Earlier on Thursday, the spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central
Headquarters, Lieutenant Colonel Ebrahim Zolfaghari, warned that Iranian
armed forces would continue expanding their operations

against the US-Israeli aggression.

He stated that Iranian forces are “continuing with greater strength and
determination in multi-level operations” targeting both Israeli and
American positions.
US forces cowardly retreat

According to an IRGC statement released Wednesday, “the operational
planning and coordination among Iranian armed forces in targeting across
different fronts has changed the war’s equation,” stressing that Iran’s
military capabilities were beyond the estimates of the United States and
"Israel."

The IRGC also asserted that “Iranian armed forces are closely monitoring
the cowardly retreat of US soldiers from their bases and their taking
refuge in hotels in host countries.”

It added that “the Iranian armed forces are observing the U.S. military’s
use of civilian facilities in host countries,” warning that “the
Revolutionary Guard is lying in wait for the invading U.S. soldiers and
will not let them escape.”
Attack on US oil tanker at dawn

The IRGC’s public relations office also announced that a US oil tanker was
targeted at dawn on Thursday in northern Gulf waters and confirmed that was
set ablaze.

The IRGC said it would track and target any ship attempting illegal passage
through the Strait of Hormuz, adding, “We have warned that military and
commercial vessels belonging to the US, Europe, Israel, and their allies
will not be allowed to pass.”

It emphasized that navigation through the Strait of Hormuz is under Iran’s
control, in accordance with international laws and wartime regulations.
