Iran said talks with Oman are reshaping navigation through the Strait of
Hormuz while warning any US attack would trigger retaliation.

*New Hormuz Navigation Framework*

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said Sunday that
ongoing talks with Oman over the Strait of Hormuz are strictly bilateral
and are aimed at establishing a new navigation mechanism that safeguards
Iran’s national interests.

Baghaei said the negotiations have been underway for two months, with the
latest round taking place over the past week, emphasizing that they involve
no third party.

He stressed that the discussions are unrelated to whether the Strait of
Hormuz is “opened” or “closed,” arguing that disruptions to navigation
resulted from what he described as the US-imposed naval blockade.

According to Baghaei, the future navigation framework will not restore
conditions that existed before the US war on Iran.

Instead, Tehran and Muscat are working toward a mutually agreed route that
is “neither the northern route nor the southern route,” but one that
guarantees the sovereignty, security and national interests of both
countries.

Citing Article Five of the memorandum of understanding, Baghaei said
responsibility for managing the strategic waterway rests with Iran in
consultation with Oman and through dialogue with regional countries.

He noted that during the first 22 to 23 days following implementation of
the memorandum, the northern shipping lane remained fully operational
before renewed US attacks interrupted the process.
*No Agreement to Reopen Hormuz*

Baghaei also rejected recent statements by US President Donald Trump
suggesting Iran had requested a deal with Washington and agreed to reopen
the Strait of Hormuz.

Separately, Iran’s Fars News Agency reported that there is “no agreement
regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz,” dismissing reports of a
US-backed Qatari proposal as false.

Fars also rejected reports broadcast by Israel’s Channel 12 claiming that
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi had accepted such a proposal,
describing them as “entirely false and fabricated.”

According to the agency, Tehran’s policy remains unchanged, and the Strait
of Hormuz will remain closed under current conditions, while maritime
traffic is only permitted through designated routes approved by the Islamic
Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy.
*Iran Warns Region*

Baghaei warned that Iran would respond to any country assisting future US
military operations against the Islamic Republic.

He said Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi had conveyed clear warnings during
recent conversations with counterparts in Pakistan and Türkiye, stressing
that any American attack on Iranian infrastructure would carry consequences
for the entire region.

“All friends and neighboring countries must understand that the
consequences of any US attack on Iranian infrastructure will affect
everyone,” Baghaei said.

He added that any country providing military bases, logistical support or
operational assistance to US forces would place itself “on the side of the
aggressors” and would face what he described as Iran’s legitimate right to
self-defense.

Baghaei also revealed that the United Kingdom, Bulgaria and Ukraine had
informed Tehran they would not participate in any war against Iran.

Concluding his remarks, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson said
Tehran would not alter its positions because of US threats or media
pressure.

“If the Americans seek adventure, they will certainly receive the
appropriate response,” he said, adding that repeated US threats over the
past two years had already resulted in “two actual wars” without achieving
Washington’s objectives.
