Civil Defense: 10,000 bodies remain under Gaza’s rubble as
international community shows double standards

GAZA, (PIC)
The Gaza Civil Defense said on Friday that around 10,000 Palestinians
remain trapped under the rubble of destroyed buildings, accusing the
international community of “shameful double standards” in its response
to the humanitarian catastrophe.
In a statement, Civil Defense officials said their teams have recovered
more than 260 bodies so far, despite operating under extreme conditions
and with “minimal resources.” The agency said it is confronting “an
unprecedented humanitarian disaster,” with no meaningful international
support for rescue or recovery efforts.
“There is a clear double standard in how the international community
prioritizes the recovery of Israeli captives and bodies compared to
Palestinian victims,” the statement said. “While the world rushed to
recover Israeli remains, there has been almost no concern for the 10,000
martyrs still buried beneath Gaza’s ruins.”
The Civil Defense expressed deep frustration over the slow global
response and the lack of urgent international intervention to retrieve
the dead, warning that the humanitarian crisis is worsening each day. It
said its teams receive “dozens of desperate calls daily” from families
pleading for help to recover the bodies of their loved ones.
Authorities estimate that approximately 10,000 bodies remain missing
under the rubble, posing an immense challenge for local rescue crews who
are working without modern search tools or heavy machinery.
The statement emphasized that “teams are working around the clock,” but
their efforts are severely limited by the lack of advanced equipment.
The Civil Defense warned that the rescue operation had reached a
breaking point and called on the international community and
humanitarian organizations to urgently provide advanced search
technology, specialized teams, and logistical assistance.
Officials said they have already submitted a detailed list of emergency
needs to international agencies, but no concrete action has been taken.
“These conditions have created an unparalleled humanitarian
catastrophe,” the Civil Defense said, urging an immediate political
decision to enable relief operations and alleviate the suffering of
Gaza’s civilians.
