Your kindness is engraved in my conscience forever.

In the 498 days I lived among you, despite the aggression and crimes you
endured, I learned the true meaning of manhood, pure heroism, respect for
humanity and values.

You were the trapped free, while I was a prisoner, you were the protectors
of my life.

You took care of me just like a loving father takes care of his children.

You have preserved my health, dignity and grace, although I have been in
the hands of men fighting for their land and deprived rights, although my
government has been committing the most horrible genocide against a trapped
people, you have never allowed me to starve or be humiliated.

I did not know the true meaning of manhood until I saw it in your eyes, I
did not realize the value of sacrifice until I lived among you, and until I
saw you smile in the face of death resisting an enemy armed with the tools
of destruction. You have nothing but your naked bodies.

No matter how eloquent you are, I will not find words that reflect your
true value and do not express my astonishment and admiration for your noble
ethics.

Does your religion really teach you to treat prisoners this way?
How great is this faith that raises you to a level that collapses before
all the human rights laws that have been established by man, and all the
protocols of war collapse before it!

Even in the most difficult moments, justice and mercy appear not through
empty slogans, but through the reality of your experiences. Do not
compromise on your principles even in the darkest circumstances.

Believe me, if I come back here, I will be nothing but a mujahid in your
ranks; because I learned the truth from your people, and I realized that
you are not only the owners of the land, but you are the owners of
principles and a fair cause.
