A woman was martyred and 20 others wounded on Friday in a series of 
Israeli airstrikes targeting the city of Nabatieh in southern Lebanon, 
in what Lebanese officials condemned as a clear breach of the ceasefire 
agreement.

According to Lebanon’s Ministry of Health, 13 people were injured when 
an Israeli drone struck a residential apartment near the Teachers’ 
House, while seven more were wounded in separate raids on the outskirts 
of the city and the nearby town of Nabatieh al-Fawqa.

Israeli warplanes launched multiple strikes across the region, including 
the Jabal Shqaif area claiming to have targeted a site allegedly linked 
to Hezbollah’s air defense systems. The Israeli army said the facility 
had previously been disabled and accused Hezbollah of attempting to 
rebuild it, calling such activity a “violation of understandings.”

In response, Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam condemned the attacks 
as a “flagrant violation of the ceasefire” and a threat to regional 
stability.

Lebanese president Joseph Aoun called on the international community to 
intervene, accusing Israel of ignoring repeated diplomatic calls to 
de-escalate.

Lebanon’s Foreign Ministry also sent a letter to UN Secretary-General 
António Guterres, urging the renewal of UNIFIL’s mandate for another 
year to help prevent further escalation along the border.

Since the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah took effect on November 
27, 2024, Israel has reportedly committed over 3,000 violations, killing 
at least 223 people and wounding more than 500, according to Anadolu 
Agency figures based on official sources.

Despite the ceasefire, Israeli forces continue to occupy five strategic 
hills in southern Lebanon seized during last year’s offensive, with only 
a partial withdrawal implemented so far.
