With more than 51% of the votes, the candidate of the Great Patriotic Pole
Simon Bolivar, Nicolás Maduro, is re-elected after elections that took

reported.

The president of the electoral authority, Elvis Amoroso, details that more
than 11 million votes were valid during the election day.
The candidate Nicolás Maduro was re-elected with 5,150,000 votes (51.2%) in
a vote that went without incident and with an electoral turnout of 59%.
The second most voted candidate was Edmundo González with 4 million 445
thousand 978 votes, 44.2 percent of the votes.
A total of 21,620,705 Venezuelan voters in the country and 228,000 voters
residing abroad were entitled to exercise their right to vote, in the more
than 15,000 polling stations spread across the country.
The election day began at 06:00 local time (10:00 GMT) and ended at 18:00
(22:00 GMT). The elections were accompanied by a wide international
audience, with participants from all over the world, including foreign
observers from the US Carter Center, the Council of Electoral Experts of
Latin America, the UN Panel of Experts and others.

a deputy and participated in the National Constituent Assembly that drafted
the new Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, approved by
popular will.
Between 2000 and 2006, Nicolás Maduro held various roles in the National
Assembly, including the presidency of the parliament. His legislative
experience covered key commissions such as Integral Social Development and
Finance, preparing him for larger roles in government.
Chávez recognized the potential of Maduro, appointing him Minister of
Foreign Affairs in 2006, where he was a central player in the bet to build
a multipolar world, To promote Latin American integration and build peace.
He then took up the position of Vice President in 2012. Chávez’s confidence
in Maduro became evident when he appointed him as his successor before his
last surgery.
After the death of Commander Hugo Chavez in 2013, Nicolás Maduro won the
presidential election by a narrow margin. Your presidency has been marked

and building a new economic and productive model that guarantees social
welfare.

and the establishment of a food production scheme.
