US base evacuated in Syria due to repeated Iraqi resistance strikes

The Hemo base is a vital one for the US occupation forces in Syria, as it
is located 4km west of  Qamishli Airport, and has recently increased its
troop size to 350 troops.

According to *Al Mayadeen's* correspondent in Syria, US occupation forces
have evacuated the Hemo base in the countryside of the city of Qamishli,
north of Hasakah, as a result of repeated attacks on this base by Islamic
resistance factions in Iraq.

Our correspondent confirmed the arrival of military reinforcements of US
troops to Al Sinaa prison in the city of Hasakah, coinciding with a
helicopter flight overhead.

The Hemo base is a vital one for the US occupation forces in Syria, as it
is located 4km west of  Qamishli Airport, and has recently increased its
troop size to 350 troops.

The village of Hemo also contains a special training camp for the US-backed
Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) where US forces train SDF militants.

On January 10th, the Iraqi Islamic Resistance announced that it targeted
the Hemo base with a missile strike.

that its fighters targeted three US occupation bases in northeastern Syria.

The Resistance stated that it targeted two US occupation bases in the
al-Omar oil field in Deir Ezzor as well as a US base in the Green Village
in Syria, using drones.

Earlier, the Iraqi Resistance declared targeting the US occupation base in
Kharab al-Jir in the countryside of al-Hasakah province in northeastern
Syria with a missile barrage.

It reiterated that the targeting of US occupation bases in Iraq and the
region comes in response to the massacres committed by the Israeli
occupation entity against the people of the Gaza Strip, as well as due to
Washington's support for the Israeli occupation and its essential role in
the ongoing aggression.

Since October 17, the Resistance in Iraq has been consistently targeting US
occupation bases in Iraq and Syria, pointing out that these operations come
as part of their ongoing resistance against US occupation forces in the
region and in response to the Israeli occupation entity's massacres against
the Palestinian people in Gaza.

A US military official told *Al Mayadeen* on Friday that US forces have
been subjected to at least 130 attacks

in Syria and Iraq since October 17, 2023, up until Saturday, noting that
the attacks comprised 53 in Iraq and 77 in Syria.

It is noteworthy that the Resistance's targets are not limited to US forces
but also include Israeli targets. The Iraqi Resistance has claimed
responsibility for several strikes on vital Israeli targets
