Israeli occupation forces (IOF) turned Al-Awda Hospital in the northern
Gaza Strip into a military barracks, according to the Palestinian Health
Ministry.

In a press statement on Tuesday, the Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf
al-Qudra said the IOF is holding 240 Palestinians, including 80 medical
staff, 40 patients and 120 displaced people inside the hospital with no
access to water, food or medicine.

The IOF soldiers blocked movement between hospital units and arrested six
personnel, including Ahmed Muhanna, the director of the hospital, and one
patient along with a companion, Al-Qudra added.

Al-Awda Health and Community Association confirmed that 12 people are still
held captive in the besieged Al-Awda Hospital in Jabalia, including Dr.
Ahmed Muhanna.

Gaza’s hospitals have been subjected to direct and indirect targeting by
Israeli relentless bombardment. They have also been vulnerable to threats
of forced eviction as part of the Israeli ongoing aggression on Gaza since
last October 7.
