Occupation halts Elbit's operations and undermines UK complicity in 
Israeli apartheid

Palestine Action occupy Elbit's Bristol Headquarters on anniversary of 
Balfour Declaration - UK is complicit in Israeli apartheid over 100 years on

Palestine Actionists have this morning scaled and occupied the Bristol 
headquarters of Elbit Systems, disrupting their operations to undermine 
their manufacturing of deadly arms and military products in Britain, 
which would otherwise be sold directly to Israeli forces.


Three activists are currently occupying the roof of the site, having 
evaded police and police dogs which arrived on a rapid response. Further 
activists entered the site and used fire extinguishers to cover the 
building in blood-red paint, signifying the Palestinian bloodshed from 
which Elbit profits - these activists then left the site, also evading 
police.


Covert action was also taken last night at the offices of Jones Lang 
LaSalle, with their London office being drenched similarly in blood-red 
paint as they continue to collect rent with Elbit's blood-money.


These actions were taken on the anniversary of the signing of the 
Balfour declaration, in which Britain pledged support for the ethnic 
cleansing of Palestinians and the signing away of land for what would 
become the Israeli state. From the signing of this declaration through 
to today, Britain has been an active participant in the repression of 
Palestinians - offering global impunity for Israeli war crimes, while 
entering into extensive military training and procurement contracts with 
Israel and with Elbit Systems themselves.


We are calling on all supporters in the Bristol area to turn out to the 
site at 600 Aztec West, Almondsbury, Bristol, to show support for 
activists and to show solidarity with the Palestinian people.
