The passing of Lolita Lebrón last week brought
attention to the 1954 attack on the US Congress
and the nationalist struggle for the independence
of Puerto Rico. Rafael Cancel Miranda was one of
the three others who participated in this protest.
Maria Hinojosa sits down with Rafael Cancel
Miranda, the Puerto Rico nationalist activist,
and his son, Rafael Cancel, an environmental
lawyer, to talk about Puerto Rico and the legacy
of activism in their family. And we meet some of
the activists who took part in the the longest
student strike in U.S. history - this summer in Puerto Rico.
