Come meet Haitian Human Rights Attorney Mario Joseph
When: Saturday, March 14, at 2 p.m.

U.S.-based human rights lawyer Brian Concannon
will be appearing with Mario Joseph.
There is no admission charge.
Mario Joseph, Esq. is founder and director of
Bureau des Avocats Internationaux (BAI), which
has helped victims prosecute human rights cases,
trained Haitian lawyers and spoken out on justice
issues since 1995. BAI successfully prosecuted
perpetrators of the infamous Raboteau Massacre,
in one of the most significant human rights legal
victories ever in the Western Hemisphere. It was
a springboard for last years successful case
against Haitian human rights abuser Colonel Carl
Dorélien, brought by the Center for Justice and Accountability.
Brian Concannon Jr., Esq. has been co-manager of
BAI since 1996. Shortly after the 2004
U.S.-backed coup which ousted Haiti's
democratically-elected Aristide government,
Concannon founded the Institute for Justice and
Democracy in Haiti [www.ijdh.org]. IJDH's mission
is "to work with the people of Haiti in their
non-violent struggle for the return and
consolidation of constitutional democracy,
justice and human rights, by distributing
objective and accurate information on human
rights conditions in Haiti, pursuing legal cases,
and cooperating with human rights and solidarity groups in Haiti and abroad."
