[News] Haiti - Fr Gerry Memorial - Berkeley June 27th

Haiti Action Committee will host a memorial service for Father Gerard 
Jean-Juste at St Joseph the Worker Church in Berkeley on Saturday, 
June 27th at 7PM. Revolutionary Haitian priest Father Jean-Juste died 
on May 27th at the age of 62. In jail and out, he preached liberation 
of the poor, release of prisoners, human rights for all, and a fair 
distribution of wealth.

He constantly challenged both the powers of Haiti and the US to stop 
killing, starving and imprisoning the poor. He slept on the floor of 
his church, St. Claire, which provided meals to thousands of starving 
children and adults every week. Father Gerry will be missed but not 
forgotten by the Haitian people, and by all who embrace true 
democracy and justice throughout the world.
