Friday April 10 and Saturday, April 11th --- Bay Area -
The Committee to Elect Chokwe Lumumba, and the 
National Conference of Black Lawyers *will host a 
benefit fundraisser honoring and featuring 
veteran civil rights attorney and activist, 
Chokwe Lumumba. Please join us for spectacular 
music, poetry and spoken word performances.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA 7pm - 9pm:
Featured in San Francisco Friday, April 10th will be:
ADVOTCJA poet/playwright/multipercussionist and radio DJ;
PARADISE, award winning spoken word artist, and
JAZZ HUDSON  well known Youth slam poet .
The event will take place at The Freedom 
Archives, 522 Valencia St., San Francisco, CA 94110

OAKLAND, CA 6pm - 9pm:
The Oakland event is taking place from 6-9pm at
ASA Academy 2811 Adeline St., Oakland, CA 94608.

Jared Ball- WPFK, 89.3, Bob Law and Khaleaph Luis 
– Malcolm X Grassroots Movement.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
For over 40 years, Attorney Chokwe Lumumba has 
advanced the causes of human rightsand social 
justice in the courtroom. In the final days of 
2008, he began another path in the fight to 
improve the lives of the people as a city councilman.

Lumumba will bring a wealth of experience, 
dedication and passion to the city of Jackson. In 
addition to serving as an attorney of the 
Mississippi and Michigan for over 40 years, he 
has been a small businessowner, factory worker, 
teacher, youth program director, and board member 
of several non-profit organizations.
