JOIN HAITI ACTION COMMITTEE
RALLY FOR THE SAFE RETURN OF LOVINSKY
PIERRE-ANTOINE
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 18th -- 5:00 PM AT MONTGOMERY AND MARKET STREETS IN
SAN FRANCISCO
Human rights activist Lovinsky Pierre-Antoine is a grassroots leader,
member of the Lavalas party, and the head of Fondayson Trant Septanm,
a Haitian human rights organization that advocates for victims of the
1991 and 2004 coup d'etats against the democratically-elected
governments of Jean-Bertrand Aristide.
It has been a month since Lovinsky was last seen on the evening of
Sunday, August 12, 2007 after meeting with a US human rights delegation
visiting Haiti. He has disappeared and is presumed kidnapped. A
delegation of activists with Haiti Action Committee had the privilege of
meeting with Lovinsky in his home at the end of July. We are deeply
concerned over his disappearance.
PLEASE JOIN US AT THE SEPTEMBER 18th RALLY AND CONTINUE TO CONTACT
AUTHORITIES ON HIS BEHALF [See phone numbers below].

OPEN LETTER TO THE PRIME MINISTER OF THE REPUBLIC
Washington, September 10, 2007
Michèle Pierre-Antoine
C/O Fondasyon Mapou
P.O. Box 33724
Washington, DC, 20033
RE: The kidnapping of my husband Lovinsky Pierre-Antoine
TO: Mr. Jacques-Edouard Alexis
Prime Minister, Republic of Haiti
Villa dAccueil, Delmas 60
Port-au-Prince, Haiti
As a Haitian citizen and the wife of Lovinsky
Pierre-Antoine, I am writing to you to make sure
that the country's judicial and police
authorities conduct an in depth and impartial
investigation on the kidnapping of my husband. I
ask you to ensure that prompt and concrete action
will be set in motion towards the release of my husband.
Surely you know that Lovinsky Pierre-Antoine has
reportedly been missing since August 12, 2007.
One day after his disappearance, the car in which
he was transporting was recovered, with traces of
blood. During the week following this
disappearance, his kidnappers manifested
themselves via phone communication, demanding a
ransom of three hundred thousand American dollars
for his release. Later on, total silence was
observed to date around this case of kidnapping,
which deteriorated this situation, making it even more alarming.
30 days have gone by since the disappearance of
Lovinsky Pierre-Antoine. His family, his friends,
and myself, his wife, have felt an immense void
in our hearts ever since. And there is an even
greater pain: that of his two children, hoping
for a unique sunrise to wake up to news about
their father, waiting in a context of anxiety fpr
the moment to see their dear loved one again.
I ask that the government which you are the head
of, and the National Police of Haiti, on which
Administrative Council you preside, to conduct an
in-depth investigation on this case of
kidnapping, perpetrated against Lovinsky
Pierre-Antoine so that he can reunite with his family.
I impatiently await your reaction to this mail on this important problem.
In the hope that this request will retain your
attention, and will be received favorably, please
receive, Mr. Prime Minister, the expression of my highest regards.
Michèle Pierre-Antoine
